- Keep the treating clinician’s and device-support contacts available, including instructions for problems outside normal hours.
- Report a loose dressing seal, repeated alarms, unusual machine sounds or a device that stops running.
- Contact the treating clinician about new bleeding, fever or other signs of infection. Seek emergency help for severe or uncontrolled bleeding.
- Be ready to describe the alarm, when the problem began and any change in the wound or drainage.
