What to discuss with the care team
- Ask what is causing the ulcer and whether circulation in the arteries also needs assessment.
- Discuss whether compression is appropriate for the individual patient. It is not suitable for every leg wound.
- Share any history of previous ulcers, leg surgery, blood clots or persistent swelling.
- Clarify who will review progress and whom to contact if pain, swelling or the wound changes.
